My first entry for 2008 oughta be nice since this should set my pace this year. And I need to feel very positive because just like in the musical Rent, there are still 525,600 less minutes to spend.
How did you start your year?
I started mine quite fine. My family celebrated it here, as we always do. For media noche, the whole household whipped up a feast to greet the year. I think the food we served, though very humble, was served with love and perfect comfort.
Particularly, the lasagna everyone helped prepare was extra-cheesy and deelish! As my brother puts it, we literally had an assembly line to keep things going in time for dinner. We prepared alot and some were given to our relatives.
We also had fruit salad, roast beef, chicken pie, sotanghon, pizza and uber-moist and uber-chocolatey cake.
To make the usual comfortable dining different, we had to wear something nice in time for media noche. Mom and sister were made up. I wore my vest, of course.
To top it all, we also had a bottle of Perrier Jouet and Moet Chandon. But since we started downing tequila around 10PM, those bottles remained closed. And speaking of tequila, I must have drank more than 1/3 of the bottle that after everything I did that day (waking up early, going to the mall for a mad dash for last minute stuff, assembly line and chores) I got to beat. The moment I sat down by the sofa, I fell asleep. And boy, was I tired?! Imagine, I got too tired even listening to my own heart beat.
I slept without taking another shower. I just planted myself in my comfy bed and then went to dreamland.
The following day, I realized I had a puffy face. Must be the water I retained from all the tequila. And was my belly big!
And so, making true my words, I went back to gym the following day (which happened to be a working day).
Now, I've been religiously doing my cardio work out and lifting weights. I need to get back to my old shape and be fit again. Determined to get back to my old form.
In the meantime, I liked how my first week has started and I am wishing hard that it will continue for the rest of the year.
Happy new year guys, and I wish you all the best this year.
