Mickey's Deli

We went to Mickey's Deli for lunch earlier today. It was fantastic, just like the first time. I really had to eat a lot because the sausages were fantastic.

The breakfast sausages with sauerkraut was great. Though it was a little oily, it was great still. Just don't mind it when you eat it. It was also served with potato salad which was different from the usual. It had onions, coupled with mashed and whole potatoes. Yummy. Eating sausages will not be complete without the bread from French Baker. Well this time, they used a different name - a more french sounding one. But just the same it was good. Then of course i also had stuffed pork belly. It was deelish too. It was also served with potato salad. Our dessert was great too! We had trio brulee. Yes, trio brulee - three brulees served separatelty in one platter. One custard with a hint of citrus. One brulee with vanilla. And one brulee with chocolate and hint of chili.

The resto also goes with a deli and bakery on the side. So be sure to grab something before you go home. Maybe you'll need to reserve in advance since the place is always full.

YOU MUST GO!

Happy Easter, Longg Weekend's Over

Well, aside from the fact that the easter marks the end of the lent season, it is a big day for most of us in this country. It is a reminder that God loves us so much that He sent His only son Jesus. For Him to die on the cross is a big thing! And that God was trying to find a way to bridge the gap between God and men, as separated by the original sin.

It should remind us that God thought of us above all. Thank God for His enduring love for us all.

And uhm, today, it's back to work. shucks.

Where will you be this Holy Week?

Pumping Iron. Eating Chips. Gaining Everything I Burn. And watching DVDs. Yes, I am planning to take the good life.

I Survived!

Well, there are two things that I have survived from.

One: I did two hours of high-powered aerobic training tonight and it was fantastic. I did Contender and Body Attack. Though I still have a long way to go as far as being fit is concerned, but I think this was a good start. I enjoyed it.

Two: Taguig. We had an internal insighting and ideation field trip today and boy was it fun. Taguig was fun actually. I learned a lot from this city today and I am seeing it from a different light. I congratulate Mayor Tinga and VMayor Elias for a job well done. Hope they continue the good work.

Not Too Bravo For This Filipino (uhm, Chinese?) and other tales of stalking and shameless plugging

Last Thursday had all of Manila's socialites and social climbers coming to Ayala Center. It was the soft launch of Manila's most premier shopping destination Greenbelt 5. And what better way to celebrate the coming of the most stylish mall today is to coincide with the celebration of Manila's stylish set too.

As part of the month long celebration and romancing of everything Filipino (from traditions, cultures and even designs), Bravo Filipino The Fashion Show in Greenbelt was timely. If you haven't been to GB5 lately, you must be living under a stone! Well, just in case you missed it, GB5 has the best range of some of the most brilliant names in Filipino fashion and design. It has names like Vic Barba, Jun Escario, Amina Aranaz, Michi Calica, Lulu Tan-Gan, the formidable avante-garde designers Jojie Lloren, Randy Ortiz, Joey Samson and Ivarluski Aseron (I think), Ana Rocha, Lila Almario, Budji Layug among others. Of course, it also boasts of some of the best retail names in the country today. Adora leads the pack (from the same group as Tyler), Chito Vijandre's store, Zara, Mix, Kiehl's, Kenneth Cole, Massimo Duty, Banana Rep and much, much more. Of course, the culinary menu is also the finest. John and Yoko, Fely J's, Padre Damaso, Travel Cafe, Myron's and many many others.

It's really impressive. And so was the soft launch. The fashion show featured some of the best names in design today. Aureo Alonzo, Manong Ben Ferrales, Nolie Hans, Patis Tesoro and Pitoy Moreno. A mini-tribute was in order for these design wonders. And of course, a barrage of other big names was also present. Inno Sotto was this show's creative director.

Where there are big shows and big advocacies like such, expect big names and big blings to show up too. The Doyenne herself was present, and so were her rocks. She's definitely no J-Lo as she is a show by herself. I'm completely mesmerized. The Cat too was there. And of course, how can one miss the big man himself? He was there complete with the entourage. This just to name a few.

Now, you may be wondering what a person like me who doesn't even have half their estate was doing there? Well, I served that night as a lame usher. I was asked to "usher" these VIPs to their seats. Well, I felt that I was the best usher that night, as I dished out one smile, after the other, after the other, with non-stop greetings and well wishes. I could give GMA's Protocol Officers a run for their money. And yes, I was stalking the VIPs and the pretentious set. I was having a blast comparing their jewels and what not.

Until. Well. You won't read it here. Hehehe. It's too sensitive. Cut the long story short, some elements in "white" and "gray" ruined that night for me. White being her usual jologs and patronizing self, shamelessly practiced what no good protocol officer should do- seat their friends on front seat. Now, if only her friends were beautiful then that would've been a different story. BUT! It ends there. And as for Gray, she was being usual "pointy" "plastic" and "im-so-effing-good-you-can't-effing-blame-me!" self. Oh well.

So for this Filipino, it wasn't too bravo. Oh well. But since the show was nice, though I must admit that it was a tad too long and paced too slowly with no drama or what, it was great to revel on the fantastic pinoy that we are. That night reminded me that we are still world class. \

Nothing Exciting

Since I joined this company, I haven't accessed nor wrote anything on this blog. Unfortunately, the company is restricting access to social networking sites and other formats that will potentially slow down the broadband bandwidth (or something). While there are those who can still access them, since I just recently camped in, nakakahiya naman to actually ask for the same. Maybe I will wait it out before I ask for access (in the guise of necessary for work).

And given that there's really nothing exciting in my life there, I could also hardly write anything too. Well, not in the past few days. But I think the coming days will be more exciting. Oh well... I got good blogging rate started, I just hope I could continue it.
